Henryk Grabiński

Henryk Grabiński was a Polish painter and teacher.

Initially, he worked in a jewelry workshop, from 1861 to 1866 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under the direction of the landscape painter Albert Zimmerman. He continued his education in Munich in the years 1868-1869, he traveled to Paris, he also visited Italy, Tyrol and Bavaria. After completing his education, he most often stayed in Kraków and Lviv, and traveled extensively around Galicia, the Tatra Mountains and the Pieniny Mountains in search of subjects to paint. In the years 1873-1877 he was a lecturer of the basics of landscape painting and drawing at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 1879 he settled in Lviv, from 1882 he suffered from an incurable disease which made him unable to walk, but he remained active until the end of his life.
