Georges Gaumet, known as Géo Gaumet was a French cartoonist.
He was an illustrator for the famous newspaper L’assiette au beurre alongside Benjamin Rabier, Félix Valloton, Caran d’Ache, and Poulbot, his works appeared mainly between 1912 and 1936.
He became famous for the elegance of his advertising drawings and received numerous commissions from major industrialists, including Beghin-Say sugar, the Lyon-based automobile companies Berliet-La Buire and Cottin & Desgouttes, Zenith engines, and Ehrlich Frères shoes.
He also created covers for fashion and decorative arts magazines such as Nos loisirs, Barclay, Le sourire, and Au Printemps.
