Follow

Emil Theodor Richter, a painter of landscapes and architecture, was first taught at the Academy in Berlin. He later took an educational sojourn to Italy from 1835 to 1839 during which he made many sketches of the countryside around Naples, Pompeij and Rome. He often worked from these sketches when later creating pieces. Richter resided in Munich from 1840 onwards, where he also painted Bavarian vistas.
