Eduard Majsch

Eduard Majsch was an Austrian painter of Slovak descent.

Eduard Majsch studied painting with Carl Wurzinger at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1864 to 1869 and history painting with Eduard von Engerth from 1870 to 1874. After graduating, he undertook a study trip to Italy and France.

From 1880 he worked in Pressburg, where he opened a private painting school. Majsch was a co-founder and deputy chairman of the Bratislava Art Association. He showed his works at art exhibitions in Pressburg, Vienna, Prague and Leipzig. His works were influenced by Renaissance and Baroque painting, the influence of Art Nouveau is also noticeable in the late paintings.

Eduard Majsch was buried in the Andreas Cemetery in Bratislava.
