Born in Belgium on October 14, 1884 as Carl Frederik Meyer-Lesaar, he studied at the Royal Academy of Antwerp and the Royal Academy of Dusseldorf. He exhibited in 1907 in Brussels and 1908 in Antwerp.
In 1912, he traveled to North America and and arrived in Montreal, Canada. lived in Calgary in 1913 but immigrated to the U.S. in 1914 and made his home in Chicago. That same year he was also a resident of San Francisco.
Along the way he changed his name to Charles (Myr) Lesaar.
From 1915 to 1918, he exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, and in 1917 and 1926 at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Lesaar lived in Oakland, California from 1936 to 1941.
