Charles Frederick Lowcock was essentially a genre painter, but he also produced a number of studies of classically attired girls in gardens or interiors. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1878 to 1904. He also showed paintings during his lifetime at Suffolk Street, London, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, the Manchester City Art Gallery and the Royal Society of British Artists, England; the Royal Hibernian Academy, Ireland; the Royal Scottish Academy and Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, Scotland.
