He was a Belgian painter, watercolourist and illustrator who trained at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Brussels under the direction of E. Carpentier. He traveled to the Netherlands, France, Italy and North Africa in 1896. His color palette leans towards French-Flemish Impressionism. From 1904 he lived and worked in Brussels, but also worked often on the Dutch and Belgian coast and in Bruges. His work can be seen in museums in Brussels, Antwerp and Liège.
