Alonso López de Herrera was a Dominican friar and Spanish Baroque painter active in colonial Mexico.
Arrived in Mexico in 1608 in the entourage of Fray Francisco García Guerra, who had just been appointed Archbishop of Mexico, in 1625 he entered the Order of Preachers and in 1645 he was elected prior of the Santo Domingo convent in Zacatecas, where he is still documented in 1648.
