Hipolit Lipiński was a Polish 19th-century painter, representative of the artistic realism trend.
In the years 1859 - 1870 and 1874 - 1876 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow, and in the years 1870-1872 in Munich. In the years 1875-1884 he was a teacher of drawing and painting at the Higher Courses for Women. A. Baraniecki. He co-organized the National Museum in Krakow.
The author of genre scenes from the life of villages and cities, he also painted folk customs, landscapes and portraits. His works are, among others at the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków, the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Wrocław and the National Museum in Kraków.
He is buried at the Rakowicki Cemetery .
