Born in Moscow, Russia, Alexandra Averbach immigrated to the United States as a child and currently resides in New York City.
Her parents have always supported her desire to create, and art has been an important part of her life from an early age. While she originally began a career in the Financial sector, upon receiving a Masters in Art History focusing on 17th century Dutch/Flemish art, Alexandra was inspired to resume painting and began pursuing a career as a professional painter.
Alexandra is continuously inspired and awed by the beauty of nature. Flowers, in particular, are her favorite. She paints them with a degree of minimalism and preciseness highlighting the beauty of each individual petal and leaf.
She wishes for her paintings to convey a sense of stillness as if time is suspended within the painting, and hope the viewer experiences the same sense of tranquility.
